Matter Forms

Matter Forms is an interdisciplinary design studio specializing in their proprietary material, Oyster[Crete], a bio-alternative stone material made primarily from reclaimed oyster shells. Tasked with creating an installation and corporate gift for law firm Addleshaw Goddard and the 2026 RHS Chelsea Flower Garden, Matter Forms reached out to FibreLab for bespoke packaging that embodies circular practices within both companies. Our PaperTex packaging was the answer, becoming the custom sleeve made for their mini vessels.

Made from Calico Papertex, the aligned values of FibreLab and Matter Forms allowed an opportunity to give two waste streams, textiles and oyster shells, new life for this project.

For the custom packaging, we created a soft beige motif which was pressed into our PaperTex material, conveying our commitment to preserving the environment and redirecting waste from landfill.

Overlaying the sleeve with black ink, bespoke packaging for the Matter Forms collaboration was complete.

100% cotton textiles go through FibreLab’s recycling process. Starting with shredding, the discarded textiles then go through our fibre opener and are ground fine enough for paper production.
