PaperTex & Stitch Holiday Card Making Workshop

£30.00

Learn how to sew your own unique festival holiday card through the unique slow art of paper and stitching.

Join us for a hands-on workshop facilitated by guest practitioner, Katy Homes, a Hackney-Based mixed-media artist and workshop host, for a fun evening of hand stitching your very own, one-of-a-kind holiday cards. Get creative alongside like-minded people and indulge into the festive spirit.

No experience necessary, working freely and intuitively is encouraged. Take home "how to" manuals relieve any pressure to finish your creation in the session, allowing you to relax and enjoy the slow craft of paper and stitch and the company of others.

This workshop demonstrates how to create paper embroidery from geometric designs, where you can select and string together your chosen colours, weaving through the paper, creating complex shapes and turning the humble material into a keep sake which can be framed and admired or sent to a loved one.

Take home “mini self care” toolkits, with all the essentials for the craft, will be available to purchase on the evening.

About the Founder:

Graduating from Central Saint Martins took Katy to New York and back to London in her former career as a graphic designer. She worked at the renowned agency Pentagram and smaller boutique firms, designing for clients including Channel 4, BBC and Vodaphone. Her work has also been published in the New York Times. A life changing event grew her love for hand crafting with limited resources. Her passion lead her into the unique craft of what she fondly calls paper and stitch.

Her passion and purpose now is to pass on this mindful, sustainable craft, hoping it brings others the same quiet joy it has given her.
